Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Switcher Offer

Microsoft recently announced the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Switcher Offer – a Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 promotion intended for:

  • Businesses running Lawson ERP software that want to replace their existing systems with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012.
  • Microsoft Dynamics partners that want to train and certify Lawson consultants and developers on Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012.

The Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Switcher Offer provides two distinct benefits:

  • The first benefit allows eligible partners ordering Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 licenses for customers replacing an existing Lawson ERP system to receive a 50% discount on the standard list price. This offer applies to orders for new customers making their initial purchase of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 during the offer period.
  • The second benefit is a reimbursement that participating partners can receive for training and certifying Lawson M3 or S3 consultants and developers in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012.

Offer summary

To help customers make the decision to replace their ERP systems with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012, Microsoft is offering a 50 percent license discount to Microsoft Dynamics partners who process licensing orders for customers with valid licenses for Lawson M3 or Lawson S3 ERP products or previous versions of these products.

The initial order must have a minimum of one Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 server license and one user license and a total license value of US $100,000 or greater (or the equivalent in local currency). There is no limit for the maximum order size. Customers can order any combination and number of client access license (CAL) types.

The offer does not apply to the Business Ready Enhancement Plan (BREP) fees and is available from September 8, 2011 until June 22, 2012.

Terms and conditions for the offer

The terms and conditions of the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Switcher Offer are available to existing Microsoft Dynamics partners in PartnerSource. The following provides a brief summary of some of the terms and conditions applicable to the 50% license discount provided in the offer:

  • Resale prices, terms, and conditions may vary.
  • The offer applies to new Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 customers only and is not available for customers who have licensed previous versions of Microsoft Dynamics AX.
  • The customer must migrate from a Lawson M3 or S3 ERP product installation, or previous versions of these products, with a minimum of 25 users. This installation of Lawson M3 or S3 ERP software must be deployed and running (in production) before the offer period begins on September 8, 2011.
  • All purchases beyond the initial order will be priced based on the regular Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 price list.
  • Taxes, if any, are the sole responsibility of the recipient.
  • Customers must order one year BREP with the initial order. Customers may also sign up for a 3-year BREP along with this offer; regular BREP terms and conditions apply. BREP will be based on the regular Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 list price of the license, not the price resulting from this offer.
  • Offer cannot be combined with other offers and promotions.

Duration of the offer

Orders can be submitted by Microsoft Dynamics partners effective Thursday, September 8, 2011, and until end of business day June 22, 2012.
